Chong Pit Fah: Brewery companies can send their donations to Sabah schools

KOTA KINABALU, Friday, 26 July 2024

Sabahans appreciate the support extended by the brewery industry to our educational landscape and we hope the flow of donations will continue uninterrupted, said Chong Pit Fah.

“We, in Sabah, welcome the continuous support of the brewery industry through their generous donations to schools and educational foundations,” said Chong, a vice-president of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).

He said these contributions have been instrumental in the development of our state for decades.

Chong made the statement after the joint AGM of SAPP N.25 Kepayan CLC and N.26 Moyog CLC, on Thursday evening.

“It is unfortunate that these acts of corporate social responsibility are being politicised by certain parties in Malaya.

“Malaysia should refrain from turning the brewery industry into political punching bags,” said Chong.

Earlier, Chong said, while giving his speech for the AGM, the rakyat should reject demagogic politics and focus on Sabah’s autonomy in upcoming PRN 17.

“The voters want material implementations, such as stable water, electricity supply, infrastructure and public amenities, instead.

“Sabah voters should give mandate to the autonomous pure local-party alliance, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, and SAPP pledge full support to all GRS candidates regardless they are from which component party,” said Chong.
