KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah IC promotion tour which started from 11 May concluded its marathon journey with a gathering at Dataran Deasoka on Sunday (15 May).
The program, led by SAPP Youth Chief Jamain Sarudin was jointly organised by Sorak Sabah and SAPP. Jamain is also Sorak Sabah Chairman. The Sunday gathering was attended by Political party leaders from STAR Party, SAPP and Gerakan as well as several NGO representatives.
The four day convoy tour which commenced from its first stop in Penampang followed by Papar, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau, Tenom, Tambunan, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Sandakan, Telupid, Ranau, Kundasang, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Tuaran and Tamparuli. On the fifth day, the final stretch, in Kota Kinabalu.
Also present at the gathering in Deasoka Square were SAPP Party President Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee, Edward Dagul Deputy President of SAPP (Chairman of Sabah IC Promotion Tour) STAR Treasurer-General Ardino Diris, Gee Tien Siong SAPP Vice President and Feddrine Tuliang Vice President of STAR.
Yong, who is also nominated assemblyman said the Sabah IC proposal has been tabled in the State Legislative Assembly and the draft on Sabah IC Bill 2022 enactment has been completed. We will work so that the Sabah IC Bill 2022 enactment will be tabled in the State Legislative Assembly this year as well.
“Hopefully, Sabah IC will become a reality, for the people of Sabah,” he said.
Organiser Jamain said the Sabah IC Promotion tour which covers around 1,600 Km from major towns in west coast to the east coast and the interior have received encouraging response among the people of Sabah and he hoped that it can be implemented for the benefit of Sabahans to ensure the protection of the rights of the people of Sabah.
