“Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) fully supports the appointment of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Defence and the appointment of Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein as Senior Minister/Foreign Affairs Minister because the appointments will further strengthen PN-Led government to focus on the National Recovery Plan in the shortest possible time. This is what the people want,” said SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee.
Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee, who is also a Deputy Chairman of the ruling Perikatan Nasional Supreme Council, was commenting on the announcement made by the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin this evening that the Prime Minister had informed the PN leaders of the intention to appoint the two UMNO senior leaders earlier.
The appointments of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the new Deputy Prime Minister and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein as the new senior minister are supported by all leaders of the Perikatan Nasional Supreme Council.
The SAPP President stated that the Prime Minister has obviously made these decisions with the Covid -19 pandemic National Recovery Plan in mind and to ensure the cabinet is suitably manned by able, experienced statesmen with excellent crisis management track records to help steer the nation post pandemic economic regeneration plan.
