SAPP Youth Ziarah Kasih Program in Membakut

Kota Kinabalu, May 2, 2021

The Sabah Progressive Party Youth Movement (SAPP) recently held a Ziarah Kasih program in Membakut, which will be followed in Lumadan.

SAPP Youth Chief, Jamain Sarudin, who is leading the program, said Ziarah Kasih is a community activity. Its activities include donating Hari Raya packages to the needy such as the elderly, single mothers, the sick, the disabled and also converts.

Ziarah Kasih as it is called in Malay, received some allocation from Sentuhan Kasih of nominated assemblyman Datuk Yong Teck Lee while some from the SAPP Youth’s welfare fund.

Jamain said this activity is expected to give a little joy to those who receive it, especially when Sabah is going through the CMCO. Visiting the homes of the elderly, for example, saying hello to some extent reduces their stress to some whose children are working away from home.

He also hoped that other parties would join in to contribute too, within their means, do not forget this group.

With the cooperation of JPKK and community leaders of the villages concerned, 180 Hari Raya packages were distributed.

Also participating were SAPP Youth treasurer Clarence Oh, Youth exco Azlan Iswadi, Membakut CLC Vice Chairman Oh Sing Siong and CLC member Ben Besinter.
