Damage caused by Foh Sang Multi-storey parking construction works

Kota Kinabalu, October 28, 2020: Residential areas and a shop in Foh Sang were reported to have incurred damages due to the construction of foundation groundworks of the Foh Sang Multi-storey Car Park in the neighbourhood.

One of the residents, Mr Pang said the concrete floor of his house had sunk due to the underground erosion caused by construction works of the said multi-storey car park.

He told this to Gee Tien Siong, seeking assistance and solution to this problem. Mr Pang said his living room and dining room had sunk causing cracks to the walls and ceiling of the house. He feared that if the construction continued, the damage might become more severe.

Gee, who is Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vice president (former Luyang PN candidate) and his team had contacted the City Mayor to discuss solutions. The mayor in turn instructed the engineering department and contractor to estimate the loss and to work out a compensation plan on all affected properties.

He added that there are two other residential units affected by the construction, another is a two-storey shoplot located just a short distance from the site.

“Fortunately, there’s no casualty to the tenants,” he said.
