KOTA KINABALU, September 18, 2020 (Friday): Villagers of Kg Kopungit were visited by the Perikatan Nasional candidate for N.21 Luyang today.
Perikatan candidate Gee Tien Siong, who is Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vice president said the villagers of Kg Kopungit told him former Luyang assemblyman, Ginger Phoong, never set foot in their village since he was elected.
They mockingly said that maybe his (Phoong’s) feet are too tender to withstand the rough and rugged roads leading to their hilly homes.
The villagers also voiced their dissatisfaction with the Warisan-plus government for cancelling aid to them. The state government’s promise of funding and assistance are all lies, they added.
However, the villagers are grateful to the federal government of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyddin for helping them financially during the MCO period.
Kampung Kopungit is a hilly village situated not far from the Queen Elizabeth hospital (QEH1) mostly inhabited by the local KadazanDusun natives.
