KOTA KINABALU, April 27, 2018: Local opposition pact Gabungan Sabah and its component SAPP is kicking off its campaign for the Kota Kinabalu area with a gathering at the Foh Sang commercial area on Saturday.

SAPP director of operations Melanie Chia said the 7pm gathering was to among others introduce GS’ candidates for the Kota Kinabalu area.

They include party president Datuk Yong Teck Lee who is making his first electoral foray into the Kota Kinabalu Parliamentary seat.

Also at the event would be SAPP secretary general Datuk Richard Yong who is contesting the Likas state seat and party founding member Gee Tien Siong who is making his first electoral outing by contesting the Luyang state seat.

Also at the gathering is SAPP candidate Lim Kat Chung who has fielded for the Api Api state seat.

“This gathering is also aimed at enabling Kota Kinabalu voters to learn more about our struggle for Sabah rights,” she said.

Melanie said the Gee would have an interesting perspective to share about why Sabahans should be concerned about regaining the rights the state as well as preserving the true harmony among the various diverse communities here.

“Gee was born in Johor but came to Sabah more than 30 years ago. Growing up in Sabah, he knows the situation here and worries about the divisive political culture that is creeping in by the Malaya political parties,” Melanie added.
