The Luyang Community Hall, which was officially declared renovated on 10 July 2025, is now undergoing floor repairs barely three months later, drawing public concern.
Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Luyang Constituency Liaison Committee (CLC) Chairman, Gee Tien Siong, pointed out that workers were recently seen redoing the flooring, even though the hall’s upgrading project had just been completed not long ago. This, he said, raises questions about the adequacy of the planning and implementation.
He said the previous upgrading works had already included floor installation, so the need for another round of repairs clearly indicates issues in the earlier construction process.
“The real problem lies in the fact that the old wooden base layer was not removed during the renovation, which later caused the surface to bulge after moisture seeped in.”
Gee added that public projects should not be rushed merely to meet a minister’s officiating schedule.
He stressed that the facts speak for themselves.
