Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President Datuk Yong Teck Lee, while celebrating his birthday at the party headquarters, today, began by saying, “Last night I slept very well,” drawing warm laughter.
Using the phrase “a clear conscience is the best pillow,” he likened peace of mind to the softest cushion that allows one to sleep soundly. He said that he happened to have come across that wise saying in today’s English newspaper.
The party headquarters hosted the birthday gathering for the president, attended by party veterans and senior leaders and party members and staff in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.
Just the day before, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) had announced that it would part ways with Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) and SAPP.
Yong’s tone was light and unhurried, subtly suggesting that after the separation, he could now be more at ease.
He also mentioned that SAPP’s next steps will only be announced after the party’s scheduled supreme council meeting on Saturday.
