Yong: Time to unite for Sabah rights

Kota Kinabalu, Sunday, 30 November 2025

SAPP respects and accepts the outcome of the Sabah elections yesterday. The swearing in of the Chief Minister this morning has put to rest any worries of instability that were feared to arise in the event of a hung Assembly.

SAPP congratulates Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Hj Noor for being appointed as Chief Minister and we wish him all the best in steering Sabah towards a progressive and prosperous Sabah. His task is not going to be easy.

SAPP is encouraged by the call of Datuk Seri Hajiji for parties to close tanks after the election for the greater good of Sabah.

SAPP similarly calls on all parties to unite as Sabahans in continuing our valiant fight for Sabah rights, particularly in achieving the 40% net revenue which is a burning issue that is at the top of people’s mind.

There is also the ongoing legal case to reclaim Sabah’s continental shelf and territorial seas.

Resist divide and rule tactics

In pursuing Sabah rights, Sabahans must be united. We must, at all costs, resist divide and rule tactics by outside forces that aim to weaken Sabah.

People are tired of the endless politicking and squabbles. People want solutions to their problems. Sabahans want unity.
