SAPP Aid to Luyang fire victims

Kota Kinabalu, 19 January 2021

KOTA KINABALU: A family of four, whose double-storeyed terrace house in Luyang was burnt last week received some assistance from Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) today.

Head of the affected family, Mr Wong, said they had no choice but to take shelter at a relative’s house while waiting for repairs to be done on the house.

The family was given aid, in the form of food and cash, through the Luyang Community Development Unit (UPPM), presented by the CDO Lim Kat Chung.

On January 10, Luyang Community Development Leader (PPM Luyang) Gee Tien Siong, who arrived at the scene during the fire accompanied by his CDO Lim Kat Chung and PPM unit staff Nelson Tang, said fortunately four of the family members were unhurt. Even though firefighters had tried their best to put out the fire, first floor of the house was damaged and became untenantable.
