Support the New Deal

KOTA KINABALU, 16 March 2021: PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin contributed a lot to the positive performance in the implementation of Malaysia’s economic plans amid the fight against Covid-19.

SAPP deputy president Edward Dagul said almost every nation in the world is facing similar health and political crisis in dealing with this pandemic.

However, the government of Malaysia is lucky to have Perikatan Nasional to lead this battle in an effective manner, due to its transparent and efficient managements, he said.

He said this in support of Muhyiddin’s call to support Malaysia’s new deal – Perikatan Nasional – during a Gerakan function recently.

“This, of course, is helping to lessen the burdens of the rakyat via various planning and measures apart from financial assistance for the needy,” said Edward, the PN central committee member.

He said the PM had made strong and bold moves to steer the nation forward and in keeping the people together by among others being the lead in many initiatives including in getting the Vaccine and providing it free for Malaysians.

He said it is undeniable that there have been an increase in unemployment rate and closure of businesses over the past years but measures are being taken to address it.

This is not a drama but a reality faced and it has to be overcome, he said.

The current governance under Muhyiddin’s leadership had also seen the introduction of the Rangsangan Ekonomi Prihatin Rakyat worth RM260 billion to protect the people, support businesses and strengthen the economy, he said.

There is also a comprehensive economic package named PENJANA worth RM35 billion as a way forward to strengthen the economy, Edward added.

“These has somewhat allowed the people room to breathe and gives new breath to businesses,’ he said.

The entry of investors and income subsidy plans have also allowed for reduction in unemployment rate, he pointed out.

This has given the rakyat a new hope and will to start over and in facing the new norms of life amid this pandemic as well, Edward added.
