Chin: Warisan betrayed the people

KOTA KINABALU, 2nd September 2020: Warisan did a complete U-turn on the Tanjung Aru Ecological Development (TAED) plan when its vice president Junz Wong said he was never against TAED in a press statement after the last General Election.

Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Information Chief, Chin Vui Kai, said that just before the last general election in 2017, Junz made a pledge that Warisan will not go ahead with TAED, and that one of the first things he and his colleagues would do if Warisan was to win the elections was stop it from proceeding with a proud heading “TAED Is A ‘No Go’ Under A Warisan Government, Reassures Junz Wong”.

Sabah Non-government organisations (NGOs), environmental organizations, public open space activists, who are strongly opposed to the TAED plan and who put their trust that this matter can be resolved are fooled as well, said Chin.

“This is a credibility issue that the people should be wary of. Are we still continuing putting our trust in him and Warisan?” he warned.

Chin said there is no need for the Sabah people to continue supporting such an untrustworthy political party.

“They are not worthy of your support,” he stressed.

“Warisan leaders not only made U-turn on TAED but also the Kaiduan Dam (now named as Papar Dam) project.
