KOTA KINABALU, May 10, 2018: A new non-Umno era has dawned on Malaysia, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president Datuk Yong Teck Lee said.

He said people have voted against BN-UMNO, the Prime Minister and unpopular policies like GST.

“These have overwhelmed other issues,” Yong said in a statement late Wednesday.

“We shall fight to ensure that Sabah rights are not buried because this new era will see the unleashing of regional energies like what we have seen in other parts of the world leading to the empowerment of the regions,” he said.

He said the election had enabled Gabungan Sabah to bring key issues affecting Sabah into the public arena.

“We shall continue the struggle to see that these ideas will germinate and grow,” Yong said.

“We will keep the flames of Sabah rights burning,” he said.
