KOTA KINABALU, May 8, 2018: Claims that he has been “missing” in Kota Kinabalu for the past five years is amusing Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Datuk Yong Teck Lee.
“I live and work in KK. I have been attending functions, going to courts and police stations, going to my favourite coffee shops, driving around KK, dutifully paying my house assessment rates and parking fees,” he said.
“And I know I haven’t become invisible,” Yong said when responding to DAP Chan Foong Hin’s claims that he had been missing.
“I wonder how can a Tawau visitor can say that I have been missing for five years,” added Yong in reference to Chan who was the Sri Tanjung State Assemblyman.
“He is a visitor to KK and so he would not know I have been around in KK all the while,” Yong said.
He said as far as he knew the only missing YB was Chan’s DAP colleague Jimmy Wong who was the KK MP. “I am neither missing nor a YB,” quipped Yong.
“He’s the one who has actually been missing for five years so Chan may have gotten us mixed up,” said Yong.
He said the outrageous claim indicated Chan’s desperation to cast him in a bad light.
